A Collaborative Approach to the Redesigned Curriculum
Communications Brief: Curriculum In-Service September 29, 2016
- During the 2015/16 school year, the Ministry of Education introduced a draft revised curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 9. That curriculum will be fully implemented in all schools in September 2016.
- The revised BC curriculum provides much opportunity for teaching and learning in ways that are most supportive of our students as we negotiate our 21C world.
- Here in Nanaimo Ladysmith School we continue to grow our collective capacity around the revised curriculum. September 29 is our next Curriculum In-Service day where there will be informal gatherings taking place across the district – school networks, families of schools, partnerships in collaboration with school leadership.
Last year, the Ministry of Education (MoE) presented school districts a renewed curriculum that will transform and modernize the BC education system. This curriculum, referred to as Transformation in Curriculum and Assessment is intended to help educators create learning environments that are both engaging and personalized for students.
