Board representative of the following agencies:
• Provincial Councillor - BCSTA
• Chamber of Commerce - Town of Ladysmith
• Literacy Nanaimo

TerryLynn was first elected in 1993 and re-elected four subsequent terms until 2008.  TerryLynn did not run in the 2008 election but returned to the Nanaimo-Ladysmith Board of Education in 2011 for her sixth term.

For the past three years, TerryLynn has volunteered at the Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation as a director, and is currently President of Literacy Central Vancouver Island.  Continuing her educational pursuits, TerryLynn took a business course and learned Mandarin Chinese.  Lifelong learning is a passion for the Saunders family and extends to the many international students TerryLynn has been Homestay Mom to.  Her great niece attends a school in the district and her great nephew will attend preschool next year.

TerryLynn has been Chair of the Board of Education as well as Chair of the Education, Business, and Human Resources committees.  She has served on most committees during her 15 years as a trustee and represented the Board on various joint community-based committees.  She finds visiting schools invigorating and continually reminds her why she is a trustee.  TerryLynn is looking forward to working with this new Board for the benefit of the students in SD68.

About trustee zone schools

In order to provide a trustee liaison for each school in the district, trustees are assigned to zones of schools. See here for a complete list of trustee zone schools.
