We will explore Snuneymuxw songs and stories to learn about the close relationship the Snuneymuxw people have to local land, water, plants and animals. Our group will embark on a sound walk along the harbour to “listen.” Back at Art Lab, we will use found objects from the seashore to create instruments of our own, then create songs to express what the ocean is telling us. Learning from the Sea Tuesday, February 20, 9 am - 2 pm What can we learn from the sea? What do the waves, whales and other sea life tell us? We will visit the gallery to investigate Landfall and Departure: Epilogue, an exhibition that examines our relationship to the sea, and record and interpret our findings. We will learn about ancient underwater worlds where weird and wonderful forests grow and live for thousands of years, then illustrate unusual life forms in graphic styles, respond to sounds of the sea with pastels and watery paints, and collaborate on elegant wire sculptures. Ages 5–12 Supplies included. $30 per child | $55 for two siblings per day. Bring lunch, snack, and water Register @ 250.754.1750 
