Dover Bay Secondary’s senior boys volleyball team took provincial bronze.

The Dover Bay Dolphins made it onto the podium at provincials.

The senior AAA boys’ volleyball team placed third for a second-straight year at the B.C. championships, held last week at the Langley Events Centre.

Dover defeated the Seaquam Seahawks 21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-20 in the third-place match Saturday and only lost one match at the tourney, a semifinal showdown against the Kelowna Owls.

“It’s certainly something for them to be proud of,” said Shawn Owen, Dover coach, in a press release.

He liked the way his team responded in the third-place match after the semis.

“It’s about regaining an aggressive mindset and trusting the process and their abilities,” Owen said. “A bronze-medal game is never an easy one to play.”
