Jeff Solomon retired as a provincial child protection social worker in 2013 after a 27 year career. For the last 23 years, he was the emergency response after-hours worker and responded independently to all child welfare cases in the geographic area between Saltair and Qualicum Beach. Jeff has a three year diploma in child and youth care and a bachelor of social work.
Over the last two years, Jeff has been very involved in the Colliery Dam Park Preservation Society and has continued efforts for a suitable solution. During this process, he has networked with the community, and both municipal and provincial authorities.
Jeff has three children with his wife Roblyn, all of whom attended school in Nanaimo. He also has had experience with home-schooling with his two daughters during the elementary years and with special needs education as their oldest son has Downs’ Syndrome.
