CBC Sports Coverage of Olympic Gold Hammer Throw!
John Barsby Secondary students and staff held a gold medalist’s homecoming for Ethan Katzberg on September 26, 2024. Katzberg, who grew up in Nanaimo and graduated from John Barsby, won gold in the men’s hammer throw at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
He was gifted a personalized Barsby hoodie and hammer and took questions from students including, “Did you get to try the (TikTok famous) chocolate muffins?”
