Participants learn about food safety, how to prevent food borne illness, job hazards and how to apply safe work practices to reduce job related injury and illness. Food Safe Certificates are widely recognized within the food industry in British Colombia. Provincial Food Safe Certification after successful completion, valid for five years.

If you live outside the school district, you can submit a request for the program. This does not reserve a seat, and you will be notified by staff if a seat becomes available.

  • Programs are intended for students in Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools
  • Pricing is per child.
  • For subsidy or if you have any questions, please contact CommunitySchoolsSpringBreak@sd68.bc.ca.
    • Subsidies are limited to one full-time program per child.
  • Minimum notice of 72 hours required for refund.
  • Programs may be cancelled due to low registration.
  • If your child receives additional support for success at school, please contact us to discuss possible options.
  • Please make sure your child comes prepared for the program, including a water bottle, proper footwear, and sun protection if necessary.
