A 5-day immersive summer experience designed to build confidence, leadership, resilience, and connection through outdoor adventure, creativity, teamwork, and community engagement.

 What’s Included:

🧠Self-Awareness & Goal Setting
Team building, values exploration, growth mindset, vision boards & creative activities

🌿 Nature Connection & Outdoor Skills
Map & compass basics, trip preparedness, healthy habits, beach & forest outings

Off Site location:

  • Cottle Lake in Linley Valley walking from Wellington Secondary

🤝 Community Volunteering
Meaningful service opportunities that teach empathy, responsibility & teamwork

Off Site location TBD: Seniors home or RDN on free public transit from Wellington Secondary

🧭 Leadership Development
Leadership circles, stress-response education, guest speakers & confidence building

🏝️ Summit Adventure Day

Off Site Location: Saysutchun Island public transit from Wellington Secondary.

Participants will leave with:

Small group experience

GRIT = Growth Resilience Integrated Training

Field trip form will be required as some days are off site.

If you live outside the school district, you can submit a request for the program. This does not reserve a seat, and you will be notified by staff if a seat becomes available.

Summer Programs

Please Note:

  • Programs intended for School District 68 students
  • For subsidy, please contact communityschoolssummerbreak@sd68.bc.ca
  • Minimum notice of 72 hours required for refund
  • Programs may be cancelled due to low registration
  • If your child receives additional support for success at school, please contact us to discuss possible options.
  • Please make sure your child comes prepared for the program, including a water bottle, proper footwear, and sun protection if necessary
