Jessica has a PhD in Clinical Psychology and has worked as university instructor of psychology. In her clinical work, she commonly worked with adolescents and adults with a focus on trauma, interpersonal conflict, emotion regulation, forensic involvement, and mindfulness.

Jessica previously served as School Trustee in North Vancouver (SD44), as Provincial Council for the British Columbia School Trustee Association, and as treasurer of a province-wide preschool organization. Jessica is a lifelong advocate for public education and believes strongly in the equalizing role of public education in a democratic society.

Jessica and her partner raise their three school-aged sons on a farm in South Wellington. Jessica is actively involved in her community and is the co-chair of the South Wellington and Area Community Association.
